Using a steam cleaner on interior...

What do you guys think about using a steam cleaner to clean the interior? I was looking at these and was wondering if they were good to use and/or safe for leather, vinyl, rubber, plastic etc.

What do you think about these McCulloch steamers?

Includes 25" L x 1" diameter flexible hose; handheld steam cleaner with electrical cord; nozzle attachment; plastic pour cup with spout; rectangle attachment; round attachment; three round brushes; steam jet nozzle. does'nt say how hot the hand held gets. $35.99

Steam, IMO, is the best way to clean. I purchased a Vapor Clean Desidereo from Kevin Farrell of Kleen Car . This model actually is an extractor along with steamer. I love it. Saves money because I use almost no cleaning chemicals. But more importantly, it does a better job in about half the time. The small unit you are talking about will help you clean your vehicle better, but really help when you have those tougher stains and grime. I use mine to steam clean the ENTIRE inside of the vehicles I detail. Sometimes I even use it on the engines and wheels. Steam is safe to use on everything on the interior, leather, upholstery, carpet, vinyl, plastic and headliners.

I see you have listed 2 separate models. Go with the strongest one you can afford. You will NOT regret it.

    Good luck!

Save your money on both of those. Save for a better unit. With at least 300degs of heat and 75psi pressure.

I have a shark steam cleaner that I picked up at Lowes. I use it all around the house as well as when I am detailing the car.

a smaller model that I just ordered for around the house and actually has some good numbers is Sam's Club - Monster SC60 Steam Cleaner Its from Sam's Club, but can only be ordered, it's not available in stores. Read alot of reviews and seems to be about the best out there without going into the $400+ price range.

AG is now selling very nice extractors. If you are looking for steam to clean nooks and crannies "Tuesday Morning" stores sell a Campbell Hausfeld auto steamer for 19.99. Holds 18 oz., heats to steam in 30 secs, steams continously for 20-30 minutes.
