Getting fish hooks with PC newbie

Hey guys today was my first try with the PC and having a little trouble with fish hooks and a little hazing.
I am using a 6.5 orange pad with PBs SSR2.5. Im not sure if im not letting the polish brake down enough but I feel im going slow enough?
Im using speed 5 going over a pannel thats about 15X8 up and down and back and fourth. I can see the polish starting to clear up after 6 passes and starts to fling out dry polish.
Im using light pressure letting the pad and polish work for me.

spritz a little quick detail or water on the pad every 1-2 rounds.

I was wondering if I should back the pad selection down to a white polishing pad with the SSR2.5 at this point, and then finish off with the SSR1 with a fresh white pad?
I also think I need to pick my movement speed up some I think I was close to 2 inches per second.
This takes practice for sure. Its not as easy as it looks on the videos and very time consuming.

Always start with the least aggressive. That goes for pads and polish. Spritz a little water on your pad to give you more working time. Two inches per second should be good, but I would use speed 6 for polishing.

1st off I love your DSM! I really want to get a 1st gen talon or eclipse GSX for a DD, 2nd you might also want to look into smaller pad eventually. I got a ton of 6in flat pads with some of my orders and based on the info here from other members I tried them out and get great results.

Also look for budman (think it's budman) tips on using ssr2.5. I followed his tips exactly for 2.5 on my Evo with great results. Basically just like you were saying. Just use a white pad 1st and go from there.

How much product were you using? With SSR2.5, a thin bead of product near the edge of the pad is about the proper amount, any less will cause the product to dry up and possibly dust (essentially dried out product). Instead of using a QD or water, simply use more SSR2.5. The SSRs don't fare all that well with water or QDs. Also, don't be afraid of speed 6, it'll make your correction a little bit faster.

Did you complete the entire vehicle already and are left with the micromarring or just a few panels? If the whole vehicle is done, try using the SSR1 and a polishing pad. If that doesn't work, bump up to SSR2.5 with a polishing pad, etc. SSR1 should be enough to take care of the micromarring in the pictures, but if not you won't do any harm using SSR2.5 with a polishing pad either.

Thanks guys for all your help!! Budman I have watched all the videos on polishing with the PC and accually used more product than I needed I thought for a small pannel like that. I used a ring around the out side of the pad on a preped pad I used on the hood and I cleaned all the dry polish off with a edge pad cleaning brush before I started the pannel.
I only did part of the hood, 1/2 of the roof and that small pannel to get a feel for the PC and how the polish worked.
I checked the pad when I was done each time and it was never dry just damp.
I cleaned all my pads and decided to wait for a day that I have all day to complete the entire car as I work 10 hours a day during the week.
