Im from california, and in my area, there are alot of non english mexican speaking guys driving around in their trucks using quality detail products, doing a job for $20. I dont know, but thats a good way to put a detailer who does it for $200 out of business pretty quick. More than likely you'll lose a customer, because he can get 10 details for the price of 1 from the other guy. The mexican guys does the same exact job.

In this world, it's all about the $$$
I can gaurantee the service I offer can not be put in the same classification as the people you mention.

Just to mention a few items:

What I offer is a maint. service that is only advised after a correction and WILL NOT result is additional marring

Foam lance on paint mixture bottle changed and wheel mixture used via lance allowing surfectants to dwell for about 5 minutes and pressure washed off follwed by two bucket method.

If the lower panels are real dirty they get hit with a citrus based mix as a pre treat before foaming.

My entry LSP's are: JW AJ for light colored vehicles and P21s (new version) for dark colors.

water based tire dressing * rubber of tires thoroughly cleaned once a month

top notch products/tools sound process.. the guys you mention do that?

If you offer the same thing as "the guy down the way" then IMO you should find the ways to set yourself from the pack

"The Amazing Racist" is what you calls himself. I love the one he did where he dressed up in a Chinese womans outfit and went to "dine" in a Chinese restaurant talking about can I get some dog or cat I know you guys eat that LOL. The other one where he dresses up in a Klan's men robe and goes to a black neighbor hoods gas station asking for a few bucks for gas cause he late for a meeting.

Re: Am I charging too much?

I charge 50$ an hour or so sometimes it turns out to be a long job. I did a Land Rover for a buddy and I got paid 350$ for it it was a little over 10 hours. He was very pleased as he has a rotary and I did it with a udm and he said it was much better than he could do. I got the job cause I told him that I was good then he said show me and I told him I would do it and if he didnt think I did better he didnt have to pay but if I did better he would have to do a cluch job on my car for free labor being 350 so he did it.
