QD / Waterless Wash for McKee's 37 Paint Coating

Looking for a QD / Waterless wash that I can keep in the car in case I need in while on the road. Plan to use it minimally, but have it in case something comes up, such as a bird pooping on the car. Any recommendations? Looking for something that is not going to negatively impact the coating. I've seen the PBL Diamond Coating Detailer, but it seems expensive for this purpose.

I could be wrong, but I don't think any QD or WW will harm your coating. That said, everyone has their favorite QD's. Griot's Speed Detailer is among the best bang for the buck there is. I am also a HUGE fan of Pinnacle's Crystal Mist. It's more expensive and leaves a wonderfully slick feeling behind, and lots of gloss. I use Griot's for volume work (e.g. Larger vehicles) simply based on cost. Wife's A4 gets the PNB Crystal Mist.

With your coating, you want something that'll leave minimal things behind so chances are, I'd suggest Ultima Waterless Wash, a lot of people also like Wolfgang Rinseless.

i don't know how much Uber would affect it or how long any affect would last.

But here's what Mike P says about it in this thread.

"There's no wax or sealant in the formula but there are glossing agents to leave the paint shiny."

McKee's rinseless leaves minimal behind from me testing it. ONR is another that leaves minimal behind. Opti-Clean waterless wash is another that leaves minimal behind.

With ONR and McKees rinseless, I'm not sure if they're made to be able to be used as qd or waterless wash versus UWW and Wolfgang which has the detail spray ratio for it. If the other two can safely be used as qd or waterless wash mixture, then they're all great choices. Whatever they leave behind doesn't last you long anyway, but stay away from the wash and wax stuff.

They can both be used as a QD. Not sure how McKee's rinseless would work as a waterless. I'm sure someone has found a waterless wash dilution. The product description recommends McKee's waterless wash concentrate. Both are good options. I have yet to use Uber or UWW.

McKee's 37 can certainly be used as a QD.

What one product can do all this? The answer is McKee's 37 Rinse Free Wash & Wax, a super concentrated formula that cleans, shines, and protects paint. McKee's 37 Rinse Free Wash & Wax has multiple uses. The concentrated formula can be diluted with water to make two exceptional car care products that blend convenience and performance seamlessly:

    Rinseless Wash

McKee's 37 Rinse Free Wash & Wax is packed with lubricants that wrap around dirt and grit to elevate it just above the paint surface. Specialized polymers grab dirt and trap it within the slippery solution of lubricants and water. As you wipe the wet surface with a microfiber towel, the dirt will stick to the towel, not the paint. Upon drying the surface, it will feel super slick and have an incredible gloss. In fact, McKee's 37 Rinse Free Wash & Wax offers more surface protection, slickness, and shine than any other quick wash or rinseless wash on the market!

Add 2 ounces to a gallon of water to create a rinseless wash
Add 1 ounce in a bucket containing 2 gallons of water (have a 2nd bucket on hand for rinsing purposes)
Wash the vehicle one panel at a time
Wash the vehicle one panel at a time
Dry the panel using a Guzzler Drying Towel
After you wash a panel, dry it using a Guzzler Waffle Weave Drying Towel

    Quick Detailer

This is where the polymers really shine! The proprietary polymers bond to the paint as the lubricants allow dust and dirt to be wiped away scratch-free. The polymers leave a slick, high gloss finish that is a brilliant complement to any existing wax coat. Since McKee's 37 Rinse Free Wash & Wax is water-based, it’s safer for you and your vehicle. Enjoy the slick shimmer and convenience of a quick detailer with no harmful chemicals!

McKee's 37 Rinse Free Wash & Wax is ideal for maintaining a clean vehicle when a traditional car wash is impossible or impractical, like during the winter or in water-restricted locations.

McKee's 37 Rinse Free Wash & Wax is ahead of the curve with its water-based, environmentally friendly formula. Because there’s no need to rinse, there are no chemicals running into storm drains and then into local lakes and streams. (Storm drain water does not receive any filtering or processing before entering the local surface waters.) Eliminating run-off preserves the water quality in your area, which is better for you, your neighbors, and the environment.

McKee's 37 Rinse Free Wash & Wax contains non-petroleum lubricants that are readily biodegradable and nontoxic. This creates a drastic reduction in VOCs, well below the standards set by the California Air Resources Board and the federal government. No matter what the dilution ratio, McKee's 37 Rinse Free Wash & Waxs is safe for the user and the vehicle. And it replaces many products that are not so safe, like oil-based quick detailers and lubricants. So, you can breathe easier and save a little cash in the process.

Environmental consciousness is important, but the most compelling feature of McKee's 37 Rinse Free Wash & Wax is that it works. Used as a rinseless wash or a quick detail spray; this product delivers real results.

    Directions:

Rinseless Wash - Dilute 1 ounce of super-concentrated McKee's 37 Rinse Free Wash & Wax in TWO gallons of water.Soak a microfiber towel or sheepskin mitt (any paint-safe wash tool will work) in the mixture and wash the vehicle one section at a time. Re-wet the towel or mitt as needed. Note: Use the two-bucket method to further protect your vehicle from wash-induced swirls. Rinse the wash tool in a bucket of clean water before re-wetting it in the wash bucket. Dry each section with a second clean microfiber towel.

Quick Detailer - Add 2 – 3 ounces of McKee's 37 Rinse Free Wash & Wax to 32 ounces of water. Pour this mixture into a clean spray bottle. Mist the paint surface and wipe with a clean, soft microfiber towel to rejuvenate the shine and remove fingerprints and dust. The remaining mixture can be saved for use at a later time. Shake the bottle well before using the quick detailer again.

If you’re looking for a cleaner that can be sprayed on and wiped off, take a look at McKee's 37 Waterless Wash On The Go. It requires no dilution and is excellent for quick cleaning when you’re away from home. All you need is a soft microfiber towel to wipe away dust, fingerprints, and fresh bird droppings.
ONR has many uses as well.

Optimum has done it again! They’ve developed another product that marries car care and environmental responsibility – two things that are often treated as mutually exclusive. But, in this age of VOC regulations, Optimum is finding ways to enhance the beauty of automobiles and keep the environment safe.

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine is a true breakthrough in car care. It’s a multi-purpose product that serves as a rinseless wash, a quick detailer, and a clay lubricant, depending on how much water you add. You don’t have to be a chemist to formulate your own excellent car care products; just follow the directions on the bottle! Plus, this product does not require rinsing. You can conserve water and still get your vehicle beautifully clean!

    Here’s how it works:

Add 1 ounce of No Rinse Wash & Shine to 2 gallons of water to make an excellent no rinse car wash. Soak a microfiber towel in the solution and wash your vehicle with the wet towel. Dry each section with another microfiber towel. There’s no need to rinse! The lubricants and substantive polymers in the formula will protect your vehicle from abrasion as it safely cleans all vehicle surfaces. The polymers encapsulate dirt and cause it to drop to the bottom of the bucket. No Rinse Wash & Shine actually cleans the wash water as it cleans your vehicle! And it leaves your vehicle super slick, like it was just waxed!

Add 1 ounce to wash water made with your regular car wash. No Rinse Wash & Shine’s advanced polymers and lubricants offer more surface protection and slickness than ordinary car soap alone. It acts as a water softener and conditioner to improve the quality of the water that touches your vehicle to provide the ultimate safe wash.

Add 2 ounces of No Rinse Wash & Shine to a gallon of water to make a super-slick clay bar lubricant. Wet the surface of your vehicle to provide a slippery protective layer beneath Opti-clay. After you’ve clayed each section, simply wipe it dry. This solution is as effective as any clay lubricant you can buy!

Add 8 ounces of No Rinse Wash & Shine to a gallon of water to make an excellent quick detailer. Fill up a spray bottle with this mixture and use it to clean and shine your vehicle, just as you would use a traditional detailer. The proprietary polymers bond to the paint surface to protect it from abrasion and micro-marring as you clean. The incredible formula leaves your vehicle extremely slick and glossy, like you just applied wax!

One bottle of Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine gives you 4 essential car care products! And the performance of each is as good as or better than any existing, one-purpose product. Compare for yourself!

There’s a long list of benefits to using Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine instead of traditional car washes, quick detailers, and clay lubricants:

No Rinse Wash & Shine is environmentally safe. No Rinse Wash N’ Shine eliminates the run-off that occurs from rinsing a soapy car. The rinse water runs into storm drains and out to bodies of water inhabited by fish and wildlife. Water that runs into storm drains does not receive treatment at a waste water plant before reaching a body of water. All the soap, oils, and dirt that was on your car is now in the nearest lake or stream. By using No Rinse Wash N’ Shine, you are protecting the water quality because everything that was on your vehicle ends up in a towel and not in a local pond. No Rinse Wash & Shine is water-soluble, biodegradable, and meets all water usage laws established by the federal Clean Water Act and the Environmental Protection Agency.

You can wash your vehicle in the winter. Since No Rinse Wash & Shine requires a minimal amount of water and there’s no need to rinse, you can wash your vehicle in your garage. This makes winter detailing practical and convenient.

No Rinse Wash & Shine helps you conserve clean water. People living in beach or island communities are familiar with water restrictions. These may include putting sprinklers on timers or restricting household water usage to just a couple of hours a day. These laws are in place to conserve water where usable water is in short supply. Optimum No Rinse Wash N’ Shine allows you to conserve water while washing your vehicle because there’s no need to rinse. One gallon of water is all you need to wash your vehicle as well as any ordinary car wash. You can still enjoy a clean vehicle at home and abide by local ordinances.

No Rinse Wash & Shine replaces many products that are not safe for the environment. Quick detailers were one of the first categories of products affected by VOC laws. Because most are formulated with petroleum byproducts, quick detailers have all but vanished from retailers’ shelves. No Rinse Wash & Shine is not a quick detailer but it does increase shine and slickness as well as any quick detailer on the market. With its state-of-the-art polymers and lubricants, it enhances your vehicle’s finish without releasing harmful compounds into the air.

You only have one bottle to throw away. If you buy a separate quick detailer, car shampoo, and clay lubricant, you’ll have 3 bottles to throw away. If you replace all those products with one bottle of No Rinse Wash & Shine, you’ve only got one bottle to toss. Plus, all Optimum’s bottles are recyclable.

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine just makes good sense! It’s safe and effective on your vehicle, safe for the environment, and easier on your wallet than buying multiple car care products. For a clean, shiny vehicle, No Rinse Wash & Shine is all you need!
