Any strong tire cleaner or all purpose cleaner should do the trick. Another product that works well is Amazing Roll Off.

Meguiar's Super Degreaser also works well on tires...

is that the new turtle wax product thats in a black box? if so how did it work or was it overly shiny and greasy looking? i dislike most TW products but this one caught my eye not like i will buy it as i love my opti-bond. but yeah any good degreaser/APC will work purple power @ 4:1 will work great to remove it just dont get it on wheels or paint.

Thank you for the advice (Bobby, Alex, et al). The all purpose cleaner looks like it will do the trick.

This product is gaudy looking, IMO. Too shiny and plastic-y. It didn't "set" evenly. It is supposed to have months of longevity and I just can't wait until it wears away. Some people may like it but I don't. It was a naive and impulsive purchase - Learn by living I suppose.

I apologise, I assumed it was a regular tire dressing.

    Re: Black Tire Coat removal

    Here's an update:

I douched the sidewalls with Simple Green and took a brush and had at it. The coating was very reluctant to give up the ghost. This required something with more muscle. I wheeled out the pressure washer to give it a go..

The pressure washer is the ultimate weapon to get this stuff off.

I wouldn't wish this TW product on my worst enemy. Then again, it would be a killer practical joke to pull on someone!
