I just picked up a few of CG's dark blue/black 530gsm towels. My impression is they are very nice for their discounted price. They dont feel quite the same quality as Cobra Miracle towels, and they have a tear-off tag, but at their discounted 3$ a piece price they seem like a great towel.

No undies, not enough material after cutting off elastic and sewed seams. On tee shirts, I cut off sleeves, collar, and bottom stitching so all I have is a plain sheet of cotton.

I absolutely only use old towels. Also cut off any seams.

    LOL

Once, long ago, I discovered using the Wife's whitey-tighties was not cost effective. Nowadays, though, by using her "granny-panties", it seems to 'stretch' the bottom-line.

I've used about everything, diapers, t-shirts, towels (no on the undies), now using micro-fiber, I like to color code for different uses, and think the waffle weave for windows is better than anything I've used before. I like the no lint results.

The thick mf polishing towels remind me of a plush bath towel or robe.

I have old towels and rags to use on interior carpets and nasty stuff.

    Re: Cotton vs. microfiber

I walked up on an older gentleman waxing his mom's car with a pair of white briefs. It kinda weird'd me out. Just made me wonder if they were freshly used as I stood there trying to give him some detailing pointers. "Dirty undies huh?... Well, see ya' later!" LOL
I used cotton T-shirt as kid to polish my toy car and RC cars growing up. Then I found MF and only use T-shirt when I am applying Klasse or working with paint touch up.
I think everything has its place. Cotton just can't clean as well as MF, yet cotton can rinse cleaner because the fiber aren't woven so densely. To each his own. All depends what I am doing and what is on hand.
