Haven't tried Optimum Leather but I love all the Optimum products I have used.

For Finished Leather I like Ultima Interior Guard Plus or L1 as my Protectant.

My question, what are you using it on? If the answer is leather, which I assume, then I think you will like Optimum Protectant Plus. I just used it this weekend and was impressed. It has a great smell (leather), non-greasy, made the leather a little smoother to the touch but not slippery. Ultima Interior Guard Plus is another great product. I have not tried 303 Aerospace Protectant on leather.

You can also cut the Optimum product with water and use it on clear plastics. In that respect, it is a very versatile product.

I wasn't impressed by 303 on leather. I found Lexol, with a 15-20 min dwell time, far better. And actually quite good compared to Megs GC conditioner and Zymol combination product. 303 was closer to a quick wipe leather towelette or other very temporary treatment.

I have yet to try Optimum Leather, but I can say that I have been using Lexol for years on my leather and like it a lot.

I think I read somewhere here, maybe a post by Mike Phillips who talked with the chemist from 303 said the 303 Protectant is not recommended for leather.

Someone correct me if I am wrong please. I think it was Mikes review of the 303 vinyl cleaner and protectant.

It depends on the leather. Almost all automotive leather in North America is vinyl coated and 303 is excellent in this case. For uncoated leather as in many European cars, Ford King Ranch, 303 recommends Lexol. It's all on their website. Using a specialty leather product on plastic coated leather serves no purpose.

Correct in stating that 303 does not work on uncoated leather (in our tests this proved to be the case). Uncoated leather needs a very good quality leather protector to be of any good against stains and body oils both of which create problems on this type of leather.

Whilst most auto leather has a pigment coating and clear coat finish this does not make it 'vinyl' it is still leather and needs treating as such.

Whilst 'conditioners' serve no purpose on coated leather it is essential to use a good protection product particularly on pale colours where dye transfer is a major problem. Many protectors on the market simply do not work for this problem.

    Hope this helps
