    Another Temperature Question

It has been in the 50s here for the longest. Now if it gets into the low 40s we're lucky. My question is can glazes be used at these temps? I was using a machine glaze yesterday while it was in the low 50s with no problem and then put on a coat of wax as a protectorant. What if I ran the engine and got the hood warm then did some work? The hood area is where I am with the wet sanding so far.

    Re: Another Temperature Question

Most paint care product will work best between the temperatures of 60 degrees and 80 degrees.

If you want to push the limits then 50 degrees to 90 degrees.

When you start getting colder or warmer than this wipe-off and workability will start to become affected. Drying times will increase for any WODWO products.

Back in 2004 I wrote a pretty comprehensive article on this over on MOL here.

What temperature ranges are best for applying cleaners, polishes, and waxes

I did a complete rotary buff-out on an Audi Quattro in a garage in Seattle with the garage door open for lighting and it was snowing outside the entire day.

Sometimes you just have to push the envelope...

Then I'm good to go for a while. Highs won't be at freezing for a few days.
