Re: Quality, fine grade clay bar search

I am going to detail my truck when I get home from work tonight. Half of the hood, windshield & cab top will be clayed with Pinnacle & the other half will be clayed with Optimum, paying close attention to the performance. I will follow the clay with a wax or sealant. Haven't decided which yet. I'll post preliminary results in the morning. Longevity results as time permits. Talk to you soon.

Re: Quality, fine grade clay bar search

First report on the application was uneventful. Both clay bars worked flawlessly, just what I was hoping for. No breakdown at all, even after running the clay all the way to the edge of the glass. No separation. Finished claying the truck with the Pinnacle, as I have a case of that to use. The soap I currently use is 4 Star Products Auto Wash shampoo, I have 5 gallons of it, they are local to me. After claying, the truck was washed again to remove the clay lube. There I use Griot's Garage Spray Wax. Use a lot less of that as opposed to a detail spray. Followed the 2nd wash with a coat of Pinnacle Signature Series 2 wax. Of course, it hasn't rained in over a month, so I have nothing to report on the beading longevity yet. Truck is still slick as ice though. Thanks again to everybody who replied to my query about clay bars, much appreciated.

A light sprinkling of rain through the night last night. Even beading covered the truck. With no windshield wipers, they have been removed, the water beads cleared the glass at 30 mph. All good.
