Re: What is best product line to use on dark cars

The above will consistently produce the same show car results no matter what the paint type. Like this...

1939 Lincoln Zephyr - Swirls Removed - Modeled by Nicole

The Polishing or Minor Correction Step
(Pages 103 to 105 in my how-to book)

After wiping off any polish residues we moved onto the polishing step to really maximize the gloss, clarity and shine of the clear coat. For this we switched over to Lake Country Black Flat Foam Finishing Pads and continued using DA Polisher....

How To wax and seal the paint
(Pages 106 to 110 in my how-to book)

Here's Nicole wearing a microfiber glove to hold the Souveran Paste Wax as she applies some wax to the face of Tommy's Lake Country Blue Foam Flat Finishing or Waxing Pad.

    Simple, safe, consistent.

I have six newer model cars, corvettes and mustangs, and want to use the best product line possible as i only have time to do it once this spring.

Four of them are dark colors, black, gray, and red Is the new black label the best or blackfire?

If all the cars have a clearcoat finish then it doesn't matter what the basecoat color is because you're working on the top coat which is clear.

Therefore ANYTHING that works on a black clearcoated car will work on a light colored clearcoated car.

If a product line WON'T work on a black colored clearcoated car then it won't work on ANY color of paint or "type" of paint including single stage.

Thumbs up Re: What is best product line to use on dark cars

Thanks for reply. I did not know if there was a certain product that was best for darker colors and don't have the time or expertise to "try them all" I understand the procedure steps but just want to go ahead and use the best products on market

Now days there is no "best". There are a lot of "best". I can take any of the below and turn a diamond in the rough into a glistening gemstone. The key is always the abrasive technology. Any of these brands use very good abrasive technology in their compounds and polishes...

    In no particular order...

    Optimum
    Menzerna
    Pinnacle
    Wolfgang
    Meguiar's
    Sonax
    Rupes

The above is just the quick list off the top of my head. There are others, like the Mothers we used here worked very well....

Since I represent over 70 brands I try not to get pigeonholed by endorsing as single brand...

I'm sure others will chime in on what they like.

I will say this however, I have a lot of very expensive cars go though,

Re: What is best product line to use on dark cars

Here's a car I personally buffed out last weekend... I used Wolfgang because I trust the compounds and polishes to work on a wide range of paint types. Plus, the Wolfgang line offers,

    Aggressive Compound
    Medium Cut Polish
    Fine Cut Polish

And you can tackle anything with one of these three products. Not sure what it means to have an aggressive compound, medium cut polish or fine cut polish?

Just a note, you really wouldn't want to top a wax with a sealant.

see the link, note what it says about sealant and wax
