Clear coated whels

Cleaning my Camaro after a ride up to Erie Pa and when I got to the wheels I found some scratches . What can I use to get rid of these.

I believe these are polished clear coated wheels. I own a 2010 Camaro SS

Thanks !!!!!!

Re: Clear coated whels

You can use just about any product you'd use on the body panels. Compounds such as Meguiar's M105, Menzerna Power Gloss and a Mothers Power Ball or similar device work very well...

Re: Clear coated whels

Do you have the RS package? If you do, you have Midnight Silver Painted 20 inch rims. There is no clearcoat on this.

If you have the RS package and upgraded rims, you have polished aluminum 20 inch rims.

If you have an SS, with no RS package or upgraded rims, I believe you have alloy 20 inch rims, but I'm not 100% sure like I am with the above two situations.

So... which rims do you have?

do you have the RS package or did you pay the option for polished wheels?

There are 3 different kinds of 20 inch wheels for the Camaro. All are the same style, but each has a different finish.

Re: Clear coated whels

The polished 20" are like most current larger sized GM polished/cleared rims. They didn't do a very good job polishing them out. You didn't say if you see fine uniform scratches on all your rims. If so I would bet it's under the clear coat. Not that noticeable except under certain lighting conditions. Almost every set I have seen has this issue, some more than others. If they are random then most likely it's surface and as said above treat them like paint.
