Cloudy Paint

Hey everyone its been awhile since I've been on here.

Over the past year the paint on my roof has started to become cloudy. The paint is still completely smooth, you can't tell a difference from the cloudy area to the rest.

I haven't used any polish on the area since it started only wax. Previously I have used Menzerna SIP, 106 and Poorboys SSR2.5. Does anyone have any ideas on what this is, and if its safe to use any products on it? The car is an Acura RSX.

Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

Re: Cloudy Paint

It looks like the start of clear coat failure. What year is your RSX?

It's a 2003, and been outside since I bought it in 2007.

Re: Cloudy Paint

Since you have only been waxing I would suggest getting a chemical polish to make sure that it is not just wax build up. A good chemical is Poorboys ProPolish 2. If it is still cloudy I would say it is clear coat failure.

Re: Cloudy Paint

Thanks for the input guys, that what I thought it was. After washing it today I can confirm there is clear coat coming off in one section, and another cloudy spot forming on the hood.
