I have read that the newer GM clearcoat is incredibly hard, specifically 2009 forward. Although I've retired from detailing I have an old customer begging me to polish his 2011 Caddy CTS which is black. His previous CTS (a 2008 I think) was not a problem, it was charcoal/gray and normal pads & polishes worked well.
I won't do this until the temps here drop below 80º, which may be December, but I'm wondering if the clear has changed that drastically with GM products, specifically Cadillac?
I'll use the Griots polisher and a PC7336 with a 4" pad for small areas. My question is this.....Is the "new" GM clearcoat that hard where I may need microfiber pads and a new polish as compared to my trusty Menzerna? If so I'll need to raise the price to accomadate for "specialty" products for this particular car. I may be concerned about nothing but I'd like your opinion. Thank You.
