what should i get.

hi, my names Ryan, im currently stationed in Afghanistan i own a 87 Monte Carlo SS in black with chrome wheels. im trying to get a solid car detailing collection going with top of the line products that arent too expensive.

so im thinking:
chrome polish for my wheels n tail pipes
car wash
spray wax quick detail
interior dash cleaner
bug n tar remover
tire shine
microfiber towels
wash mitt

Does this sound like a good start?

To Autogeek Online Ryan!

Keep that weapon locked & loaded and trust only your own...Safe return back to the world...

The biggest bang for the buck by far are the products I've listed below. To keep cost down I've listed a 1-step product rather than multiple polishes.

Wash - Duragloss #901
Clay - Meguiar’s Clay
1-Step - Duragloss 501
Sealant - Duragloss 105 TPP
Wax - Collinite 845
Spray Wax -Duragloss Aquawax
Tire Cleaner - Meguiar's Super Degreaser
Tire Treatment - CarPro PERL
Wheel Cleaner - Poorboy's World Wheel Cleaner
Chrome & Stainless Steel - BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond Metal Acrylic Sealant
Interior Protectant - Optimum Opti Clean Cleaner & Protectant, Opticlean all purpose cleaner protectant

Recommended compound and polishes for down the road...

Compound - PG 1000 – PowerGloss Compound (POS34A)
Polish - PF 2500 – Power Finish Polish (PO203)
Finishing Polish - SF 4000 – Super Finish Polish (PO106FA)

Washing & Drying - Towels, Chamois, & Drying Tools

Re: what should i get.

If you need a really good cleaner/polish for the chrome and stainless steel, I'd suggest Poorboy's World Pro Polish 2 as a cleaner/polish before applying a sealant to the metal.

Thank you for your service to this great country!!

Re: what should i get.

Welcome to the forum Ryan and thank you for your service!
Bobby's list is a great starting point. Does your Monte still have its original paint? If so, I'd add Meguiars #7 Show Car Glaze is a final step auto glaze to enhanced the gloss prior to wax application. Get a show car shine with Meguiars #7 Show Car to your list. The older single-stage lacquer paints just love this stuff.
