Re: Looking for the longest lasting Air Freshener

This just an idea and thought.

My wife put one of those little squaty body candles (about an inch or so high and inch diameter) in a holder (just to put something in it), after almost a year you can still smell it when you enter the living room.

Makes me wonder if something like that would work...tuck it under the seat?

Like I said just an idea...

I think that's because you get use to the smell. I have the squash air Spencer and after about a month I don't smell it but even after 4 months ppl will get into my car and compliment me on the "bubblegum" type smell and I'm always surprised because I haven't smelled it in months. Kinda like how we don't hear our fire alarm low battery beep after awhile cuz we are so use to it.

that is about my lifespan with stripper scent. too bad too because it smells great for the couple hours it lasts.

If you like leather scent, try the Gliptone Leather Scent Air Freshner.

Re: Looking for the longest lasting Air Freshener

I just found some Extra large/Longer lasting Black Ice Trees, curious to see how long these will last. They do smell really good. Also you have a good point about being used to the Air Spencer scent. But usually the first time I get in my car for the day I can detect an odor if the air freshener is still working well.

I spray "Ozium" in the ac vents every couple of weeks when I turn my car on, just spray it when you turn the air on circulate. Smells like lemons, not too strong and it neutralizes odors really well. I also use cedar wood blocks (the small ones) that are meant for closets. Really nice natural smell but not overwhelming. I'm not really into the flavors though, all those trees give me headaches. I used to put fabric softener sheets in my cabin air filter but I found it to give me a headache too. HTH

Re: Looking for the longest lasting Air Freshener

I usually use one of the 'trees' too, and especially like the black ice one.

One of the ladies I work with uses a sta-soft refill (here in South Africa we get fabric softner refills in a plastic pouch type thing that looks like the pic below). She just bombs one of those under her seat and the smell lasts literally for months.

Of course having your car smell like fabric softner may not always be so appealing to us manly men.

and for those of you with kids, there is a real risk of them picking it up, squeezing it, and you having fabric softner all over the interior....
