3M Perfect-It Plus Ultrafina Foam Polishing Pad
With the recent addition of a rotary polisher to my tool kit, I am exploring all things rotary. I have a bottle of 3M Ultrafine polish that I plan to try soon. I was considering buying the 3M Perfect-It Plus Ultrafina Foam Polishing Pads to use with it. They are twice the price of LC pads. I'm looking for an opinion as to whether they are worth the hefty price difference.
Thanks!

I would suggest the waffle pro pads.

Why? They are significantly cheaper. Are they as good?

Here at work (I work in a govt body shop) I use the complete 3M line of waffle pads and 3m polishes. I love how their system works but the pad size is WAY to big. Also, if im not mistaken the pads come in a 2 pack. For personal use I am wanting to see a review of the LC pads as they are much smaller and offer 4 different pads as oppossed to 3M's selection of 2.

Thanks. Is there a noticeably different look to the finish when the 3M is used compared to a flat pad?

you are polishing more with the tips of the waffle, so the pad will run cooler. The standard waffle pattern is lower, and since its cut into the foam, its much easier to make into a flat pad. We are also looking into doping the same type 2 pack.

When you say identical. Aside from the shape, is the foam the same?

I wouldnt say there is a difference in the finnish between the two. Its more of how the pad handles while on the machine. Personally I would never want to run a flat pad on a rotory due to it grabbing, skipping, dancing and what have you on the surface. With the waffle design, not only does it help prevent that from happening but it also allows the pad/surface to remain much cooler. And that is key when doing buffing.

That would be great to offer them in a 2 pack...
