Any tips on how to remove chinese glue?

Hi everybody
A work colleague of mine has a beautiful dark Blue Corolla Axio, but had swirls and scratches everywhere. He had a Corolla emblem (stuck with CHINESE GLUE) that he wanted to remove. This I did using the tips shared by some here, using the hair dryer and the fishing line. Thanks a lot,

The remaining glue was a real eyesore.
Very carefully, I wetsanded the hard rock glue using 400 grit paper and up to 2000 grit. I removed most of the glue but “CO” (of Corolla) was plain to see. Sorry don’t have the final pic for the same. Being too impatient, my friend even went to stick another badge on the area after a day or two. I spent real time with this stuff. I was too afraid of using thinner. Any special tip for this? I have been looking for some sort of glue remover locally but nothing seemed to match the hardness of the chinese glue.
My friend wanted me to remove the scratches but surprisingly, he didn’t mind if the swirls were left. I only have these pics.


The shade on the pic is from the side wall.

Process:
Wetsanding scratches using 2000 and 1500 grit paper
Makita rotary with Menz PG & LC Orange followed by PO85rd with LC White pad.

I took all my time, remembered what Mike Philips’ advice - Put a little passion behind the pad- and thanks God it came out nice.

Here is my friend carefully observing .....




He was satisfied, so I had to stop and move to the rest of the car. “Quickly remove the scratches” was his motto. The rest of the car was compounded only. He was happy that sratches were removed even if holograms were evident on the panels. I wanted to finish with the LC gray pad and seal with Menz Powerlock but couldn’t.


But again the customer is the king

If Chinese glue is anything like those Chinese finger cuffs... I can't help you...

Very nice. Not sure what the difference between Chinese glue and other glue though.

Just to give a suggestion, I think solvent would have worked well with a plastic razorblade, followed by clay and then machine polished.

ive always used the 3m aerosol from autozone and i think even walmart has it. you might have to do a couple applications as it takes time to remove the glue. normally when i remove badges or emblems i use a heat gun and it makes the glue soft so once the badge or emblem is off i spray the 3m on there let it sit for 5-10 seconds. it always work for me i hope this helps

sorry forgot to add the product name its the 3m adhesive remover and this stuff works excellent and the price is even better i think it was 5 dollars for a can and a little goes a long way.

Thanks buddy. but being so far, so remote, i looked for an alternative to the 3M adhesive remover here. but it didn't seem to do the trick. So i wetsanded it. I'll post a pic as soon as i take a shot of it

A paint-safe solvent to remove this glue is simply hard to find locally. Being a noob in a non-detailing-friendly island , i'm wondering what i'm just looking for
