DP Engine Degreaser

I recently had the opportunity to give DP Engine Degreaser a try on an engine compartment that hadn’t been detailed in 3 years!

Before I started cleaning the engine, I took some plastic sandwich bags and plastic wrap and covered up the air intake, distributor, spark plugs and electrical components. The first step I did was to spray the engine compartment with water to remove lose dirt, leaves and other contaminants. Then I sprayed the engine and all surfaces under the hood with DP Engine Degreaser and let it soak for about two minutes, per the directions on the label.

I really appreciate the fact that DP Engine Degreaser uses surface-safe surfactants that safely clean all of the surfaces under the hood such as plastics, rubber, metal, paint and even clear coat.

One of the first things I noticed when spraying the Engine Degreaser under the hood was the pleasing aroma. Instead of a harsh caustic or solvent smell, DP Engine Degreaser smelled light and tropical with a touch of citrus.

After the DP Engine Degreaser soaked for about two minutes, I used a Long Handle Tire/Wheel Brush to agitate the heavily soiled areas. This worked great and the DP Engine Degreaser did a wonderful job of breaking up the grease and grime. Rinsing the engine compartment revealed clean components and 3 years of neglect was gone in just a few minutes!

It’s amazing that something that smells so good was able to clean so well. DP Engine Degreaser proves that you don’t need harsh chemicals to clean and degrease your engine.

I was looking for an engine cleaner that was powerful, yet environmentally friendly and biodegradable. DP Engine Degreaser turned out to be just what I was looking for!
